Jennifer began her career in insurance after graduating from Western University in 2011. A quick learner with a sharp mind, Jennifer has built her expertise in the construction and energy sectors.
Jennifer’s first role was as an underwriter at one of Canada’s leading global insurers, where she focused on mining, renewable energy, oil, natural gas and petrochemical operations. Later, Jennifer specialized in underwriting Builders’ Risk and Wrap-up Liability insurance for domestic and international construction projects with insured values ranging from $500,000 to $900 million. Jennifer’s in-house capacity of $400 million provided a wonderful platform from which to underwrite construction and liability exposures of every risk and level of complexity.
At Steer, Jennifer is responsible for the firm’s complex realty and construction clients. She focuses on risk mitigation, contract review, and specialized program creation for developers ensuring Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) compliance.
Jennifer continues to develop and educate herself. She is a graduate of the Andrew Beazley Broker Academy at Lloyd’s of London and is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) graduate.
Jennifer lives in Port Credit with her husband and their dog. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, fitness, and cooking.
