As a second-generation broker, Marcus had the fortune of being exposed to the insurance industry at a very young age.
After completing an honours degree in business commerce at the University of Guelph, Marcus chose to follow in the family’s footsteps and start a career in insurance brokerage. He completed the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 2010 and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation in 2016. Before joining Steer, Marcus played an instrumental role in the start-up and build-out of a boutique commercial and specialty lines brokerage, which offered him invaluable industry experience and perspective.
At Steer, Marcus is active in the commercial and financial services marketplace, including several niche and difficult-to-place industries in which he has been identified as an expert by industry constituents and underwriters alike. He takes great pride in the relationships he has cultivated with his loyal client base and supporting underwriters.
Marcus is originally from Georgetown and currently resides in Toronto. He is a team player with a passion to excel and a willingness to go the extra mile. An active sports enthusiast, Marcus enjoys playing hockey, baseball, golf, and Australian Rules Football. His other interests include traveling, music and film.
