Angus Smith

For more than 20 years, Angus has held a variety of industry roles with insurers, national and global brokers, and as the co-founder of a local brokerage in Calgary, Alberta.

Angus draws upon his significant experience in the Canadian market, as well with international and cross border program placements, to deliver bespoke insurance and risk management solutions. He is passionate about creating meaningful relationships with his clients in design, legal, manufacturing, technology, energy service, real estate and financial industries.

Prior moving to Canada, Angus worked with one of the world’s largest insurers. There, he held positions in the life and pensions group, the asset management team for pension and privately managed sector funds.

Angus lives in Calgary with his wife and two children. Outside of work, he has volunteered with a number of local not-for-profit organizations. Angus also manages his community soccer program, referees competitive soccer and enjoys cycling and a good round of golf.
