Marc W. Puddy

Marc’s passion for the insurance industry started at a very young age. In fact, you could say it’s in his blood; he is a third-generation insurance businessman.

For more than 20 years, Marc’s no-nonsense attitude and desire to push the industry to meet customers’ needs have garnered an impressive list of Canadian and international clients in both insurance and risk management. He played an instrumental role in building what would become one of Canada’s largest privately owned brokerages before jumping at the opportunity to own his own business. In 2011, Marc purchased Toronto-based Chris Steer Insurance Brokers, now operating as Steer Inc. Since then, he has been strategically growing the company’s service offering and geographic footprint.

Prior to entering the insurance industry, Marc worked in the financial services sector for the world’s largest multi-national securities firm. There, he was responsible for institutional client transactions in the high yield and provincial bond markets.

Marc lives in Lorne Park with his wife and four children. When he is not travelling on client business or exploring international business ventures, you might find Marc running, golfing, skiing, or playing squash. Marc is also a licensed private pilot.
